CHC22015 Certificate II in Community Services

About this course

This qualification is suited to those looking to start a career as a community services worker. It will provide you with the skills and knowledge to be able to become a first point of contact and assist individuals in meeting their immediate needs.

This qualification can also be undertaken as a Traineeship.

What you will learn

This qualification includes the following units of competency:

CHCCOM001 Provide first point of contact
CHCCOM005 Communicate and work in health or community services
CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people
HLTWHS001 Participate in workplace health and safety
BSBWOR201 Manage personal stress in the workplace
BSBWOR202 Organise and complete daily work activities
CHCVOL001 Be an effective volunteer
FSKLRG11 Use routine strategies for work-related learning
FSKOCM07 Interact effectively with others at work

Entry Requirements

All participants must:

– Attend a pre-enrolment information session;
– Be a minimum of 16 years of age;
– Complete a language, literacy and numeracy assessment;
– Have basic computer and internet skills.

Individuals with a disability are encouraged to apply.

Pathways

The following employment pathways may include:

– Contact Officer;
– Customer Service Officer;
– Care Service Employee;
– Community Worker;
– Personal Care Attendant.

Further study pathways include:

– CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support
– CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services

This qualification is delivered 2 days per week for 19 weeks from our Rosebud and Hastings campuses.
