AHC21024 Certificate II in Conservation and Ecosystem Management

About this course

The qualification will enable participants to select and develop basic factual, technical and procedural knowledge in conservation and ecosystem management for Indigenous land management, lands, parks and wildlife services and the restoration and rehabilitation of ecosystems.

AHCWRK209 Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices
AHCFAU202 Recognise fauna
AHCECR203 Perform basic ecological restoration works
AHCECR305 Collect native seed
AHCPGD206 Conduct visual inspection of park facilities
AHCPMG201 Treat weeds
AHCPCM204 Recognise plants
AHCCHM201 Apply chemicals under supervision
AHCMOM203 Operate basic machinery and equipment
AHCPGD201 Plant trees and shrubs
AHCSOL203 Assist with soil or growing media sampling and testing
AHCNSY207 Undertake propagation activities
AHCPMG202 Treat plant pests, diseases and disorders

Entry Requirements

All participants must:

– Attend a pre-enrolment information session;
– Complete a language, literacy and numeracy assessment;
– Have basic computer and internet skills.
– Be able to read, understand and interpret written information.

Delivery

This qualification is delivered 2 days per week over 24 weeks from our Mornington campus.

Government subsidised concession fee: $138.00*
Government subsidised tuition fee: $690.00*

*This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government Funding.  Eligibility criteria apply.
