SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol

About this course

The Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate is a compulsory requirement for anybody working in an environment where alcohol is available for purchase within the state of Victoria.  After completing this course, you will be able to serve and sell alcohol in licensed premises.

Pre-reading is a requirement for successful completion of this course.  Your learner guide will be supplied upon confirmation of enrolment.

What you will learn

This course includes the following unit of competency:
SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol

You will learn how to:

Source information about the liquor industry;
– Promote the benefits of responsible service;
– Explain the facts about alcohol;
– Identify intoxication;
– Implement strategies for responsible service;
– Take appropriate action for the refusal of service;
– Identify underage alcohol use according to procedures and standards;
– Apply best practice to the sale and supply of packaged liquor.

Entry Requirements

All participants must be:
– Be a minimum of 16 years of age (participants cannot work with or serve alcohol until 18 years of age);
– Be able to read, understand and interpret written information.

This one day course is delivered from all campuses. Sessions run from 9:30am to 3:00pm.

Participants will be assessed based on the principles of competency-based training. Upon successful completion, participants will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and a Certificate of Completion (endorsed by Liquor Control Victoria).
