Hospitality Essentials
About this course
This course gives you hands-on experience in food preparation, coffee making, serving alcoholic beverages, customer service and workplace hygiene and cleanliness.
It is suited to participants with some hospitality experience who are looking to refresh their knowledge and skills.
What you will learn
You will learn about:
– Food and workplace hygiene;
– Customer service;
– Front of House;
– Safe work practices;
– Barista Basics.
This course includes the following nationally accredited units of competency:
SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol^
* This component is 6 hours duration
SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety
Entry Requirements
All participants must:
– Be a minimum of 17 years of age (^ participants cannot work with or serve alcohol until 18 years of age);
– Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen;
– Not be attending school;
– Be able to read, understand and interpret written information.
Individuals with a disability are encouraged to apply.
Delivery
This course is delivered over 4 days from all campuses.
Sessions run Tuesday to Friday from 9:30am to 3:00pm.
*With the exception of RSA which runs 9:30am to 4:00pm
Due to health and safety reasons, all student must wear enclosed shoes to this session.
