CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community)

About this course

This qualification provides training to participants looking to work in residential aged care facilities and/or community homes or care centres. It combines two specialisations in one, meaning you will be able to work in both the Aged Care and Community Care sectors once qualified.

This qualification can also be undertaken as a Traineeship in the Home and Community stream.

What you will learn

This qualification includes the following units of competency:

CHCAGE001 Facilitate the empowerment of older people
CHCAGE005 Provide support to people living with dementia
CHCCOM005 Communicate and work in health or community services
CHCLEG001 Work legally and ethically
HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care
CHCCCS023 Support independence and well being
CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people
HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems
CHCCCS015 Provide individualised support
HLTINF001 Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures
CHCHCS001 Provide home and community support services

Mandatory participation in 120 hours of Practical Placement.

Entry Requirements

All participants must:

– Attend a pre-enrolment information session;
– Be a minimum of 16 years of age;
– Complete a language, literacy and numeracy assessment;
– Have basic computer and internet skills.
– Undertake a Police Check.

Following industry mandates, participants will be required to provide proof of vaccination records and obtain a current flu vaccination.

– Home Care Assistant;
– In-home Respite Worker;
– Personal Care Assistant;
– Community Care Worker.

Further study pathways include:

– CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support
– CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability

This qualification is delivered 2 days per week for 25 weeks from our Rosebud and Hastings campuses.

120 hours of Practical Placement is mandatory and will be arranged by Advance.

Government subsidised concession fee: $97.50*
Government subsidised tuition fee: $487.50*
