This course has been specifically designed to provide a general vocational outcome for a nurseryman working in a production nursery. The nursery industry expects this qualification to be achieved to meet job outcomes at this level.
In order to successfully undertake the qualification candidates need to possess English language and literacy competence that will enable them to provide clear information, ask questions, listen to and understand instructions and communicate effectively with others.

Pathways
Employment in roles such as Nursery Worker.
Upon successful completion, further training pathways may include Certificate IV in Production nursery or Certificate IV in Retail Nursery.
Delivery
Apprentices who are employed on a full time basis have a maximum of 48 months to complete training. Apprentices who are employed on a part-time basis have a maximum of 72 months to complete training.
There are no minimum requirements in regard to program duration. Apprentices are able to attain their qualification as soon as:
- Advance assesses the apprentice as competent; and
- The apprentices’ employer confirms that the apprentice has demonstrated those competencies in the workplace necessary to complete their qualification, and by doing so complete their training contract.
